CAB INTERIOR:

I started thinking of my dashboard as a potential “project space” last spring when face masks appeared alongside graduation tassels, Mardi Gras beads, souvenir trinkets, and rosaries dangling from rearview mirrors. The masks became new talismans, publicly displaying shared civic responsibility behind the windshield. Objects displayed in this space stand out within the largely homogenized architecture of the automobile. The dashboard, and directly above it, are understood as places to display personal mementos. It is a semi-public space visible, when parked, to a local audience of neighbors and passing pedestrians.
